This is a factory hardware option — the GPIB port is physically installed at the factory during manufacture and is not field-upgradeable. The option must be specified when ordering the instrument; it cannot be added after purchase. Frequently Asked Questions Can I add GPIB to my USG5000 after I've already purchased it? No. The USG5000-GPIB is a factory-installed hardware option. The GPIB port is physically installed during manufacturing and cannot be added in the field after the instrument ships. If GPIB connectivity is needed, it must be specified at the time of order. Does this option include LAN and USB connectivity as well? LAN, USB Host, and USB Device are standard on all USG5000 instruments regardless of options. Adding USG5000-GPIB gives you GPIB in addition to those standard interfaces — all four interfaces are then available simultaneously. Is the GPIB port on the front or rear panel?
