A 60-degree cone, spiral ridges up the inside, and one large hole at the bottom. There's no built-in restriction, so nothing about the brewer is deciding your cup for you. Pour faster, water leaves faster. Grind finer, it slows down. That means it rewards attention and punishes carelessness, which is the whole appeal once it clicks.Ceramic versus glass or plasticCeramic holds heat better than glass or plastic, which matters because brew temperature drifting down mid-pour is a common reason a cup comes out weak and sour. The tradeoff is that ceramic is cold when you start, so it'll steal heat from your first pour unless you warm it up.Getting a good cup out of itRinse the filter with hot water first. It rinses off any paper taste and, more importantly, pre-warms both the dripper and the server. Then start medium-fine, bloom with a small pour for 30 seconds, and pour in slow circles from the center out. Aim for 1:16, about 20g coffee to 320g water.The one rule worth remembering: adjust your grind to change the flow rate, not your pour speed. Grind is the reliable variable.
