Its "V" shape helps the water to flow evenly through the coffee bed, nicely saturating all the grinds and promoting a full extraction. The size of the opening at the bottom allows the flow rate of the brew to be more truly determined by your grind size, which means you can dial in the way your coffee tastes more accurately. How does it work? Place the brewer on top of a cup or server and insert a Hario Filter. After rinsing the filter, place freshly ground inside, pour water slowly on top and let it drip through.
