In her local community she gives back as a proctor for the local Medical School a program designed for high school students interested in Medicine. She believes and encourages students to manifest their dreams by imagining themselves already there. She is a Board member for a non-profit inner city nursing home - Mary Scott Nursing Home a member of The Dayton Chapter of the Links Incorporated Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and a speaker for Women's Healthcare. She is the recipient of the National Conference for Community and Justice of Greater Dayton Humanitarian Award for 2014. She is originally from Grand Rapids Michigan where most of her family resides. In her spare time she enjoys reading gardening which she refers to as dirt therapy and traveling.
