Huge solera-style red that blends 6 different vintages of Grenache and Syrah in old barrels, making for the most muscular, powerfully-structured and complex wine we have tried from this grower. Going back as far as 2018, it shows an interesting mix of developed notes from age, with the fruit-driven character of the more youthful wine from recent years - such is the intrigue of this type of assemblage. Impactful and intense, the dark fruits have a baked quality, infused with woody notes of cedar and musky sweet leather. The body is unabashedly full, heady with charry smoke and spice. At first smooth and supple, a substantial whack of tannin gains momentum and takes hold long into the finish. A wine for the darkest depths of winter, a bottle that cannot fail to warm the soul. To drink now or to lay down for the long haul.
