Growing up in Annandale, Sydney, we had two choices of cinema. The Valhalla Cinema in Glebe and Stanmore Cinema on Parramatta Road right next door to the iconic Olympia Milk Bar. G etting the Valhalla movie posters was a big thrill for my bedroom walls and I had a lot of them. It's where I first discovered Jayne Mansfield in 'The Girl Can't Help It' (and fell in love with her forever after). I would cut up the posters and go through my school diary with a glue stick, working out what movies I'd see for the next few months. Mount Vic Flicks still does a monthly programme which is pretty cool. Due to the style and age of the poster, each movie will not be perfectly legible on this mug. I've also cut down and rearranged the poster slightly to fit the space I can fill on a repeated mug design (usually these posters were longer).
