What Value Protection Covers If you purchase Value Protection, we agree to provide limited financial protection for actual physical loss or damage to your shipment while it is in the care, custody, and control of an approved transporter, subject to these terms. Covered causes may include: Vehicle collision or overturn Fire or lightning Flood (rising waterways) Windstorm or hail Other causes of physical loss or damage unless specifically excluded Coverage may apply worldwide, except in areas of active unrest or restricted zones. 2. What Is Protected Household goods and personal effects you own Items must be listed on the inventory prepared at origin Items not listed or not shipped are not protected 3. Declared Value & Limits You must declare a total shipment value. The declared value is the maximum total amount payable under this protection. Any single item valued over $500 USD must be separately declared. Undeclared high-value items are limited to $500 per item. No payment will exceed the declared value of the shipment. 4. Deductible $100 deductible per shipment / claim. 5. Important Exclusions (What Is Not Covered) Value Protection does not cover: Delays in delivery Consequential or indirect losses Scratches, scuffs, dents, or cosmetic wear Wrinkled or soiled textiles Fragile items (art, glass, framed items) unless there is clear external damage to the container Jewelry, cash, documents, collectibles, firearms, ammunition, alcohol, or contraband Gaming computers and related equipment Loss of electronic data (media only is covered) Items of sentimental value Acts of God, terrorism, or political acts Items not properly packed or exceeding container limits 6. Duration of Protection Coverage begins when your container is accepted by the transporter and ends when it is delivered out of the transporter’s control. Protection ends if items are placed into unsecured storage or removed from the transporter without documentation. 7. Claims Process To file a claim: Notify MoveProtection within 10 business days of delivery. Submit a fully documented claim within 10 business days of notice. Claims must be submitted through the Micro-Ship / MoveProtection system. Items valued at $750 or more must be retained for inspection unless unsafe. Failure to follow these steps may result in denial of the claim. 8. Settlement & Repairs Settlement is based on repair or replacement with like kind and quality. Market value may apply. MoveProtection may choose to repair, replace, or pay cash up to the declared value. Salvage rights may apply to replaced items. All settlements are paid in U.S. dollars. 9. Customer Responsibilities You agree to: Provide accurate shipment details and inventory Declare values truthfully Cooperate during claim review Act promptly when damage is discovered Misrepresentation or fraud may void protection. 10. Cancellation Protection cannot be cancelled once transport begins. Voluntary cancellation is allowed up to 48 business hours before packing or pickup. A $30 cancellation fee may apply. 11.
