A close up shot from a little series I created in tribute to one of my favourite artists. I have always admired Van Gogh's approach to colour. When I first saw his self-portrait in the Musee d'Orsay I spent an hour in front of the painting, feeling all sorts of feelings, letting myself enjoy every brush stroke, and I cried quietly because I felt connected to the artist through the sickly yellow and blue colours. Van Gogh's colours always make sense to me, and have always inspired a colour palette I wanted to create with. (One of the images from this series was a part of an exhibition in Paris, which I felt was very symbolic at the time.) Show more
