The second part of the size, the letter, comes from the width of the Firefighter's hand across the knuckles. Wash Care Recommend hand wash in mild detergent such as tide gentle or dishwash liquid; gently wring out excess water; hang dry or machine dry low-medium heat. If gear extractor must be used, do not use turnout gear detegrent as the chemicals used dry out the natural oils in any leather; recommend use tide gentle.
