This unique cactus has stunning marbled pads of lime green and emerald. The segmented, flat paddles are thornless and can grow very quickly, up to 20 ft in nature. New leafs emerge along the edges of mature pads and have succulent-like spikes that fall off as it grows. Their jointed architectural growth structure makes an excellent container plant outdoors in full sun! >>FUN FACT: Both the pads and the fruit of prickly pear are edible! Harvest younger pads in spring and summer being sure to scrape off any hair-like spikes. They can be eaten raw or cooked, and are said to taste like a combination of okra and green pepper.
