Soul Jazz Records return to the dark well of homegrown synths and stuttering drum programming for the second installation of their Cold Wave series. Each of the artists presented h ere has a direct lineage to the early European movement which gave us lo-fi tech, underground fanzines and a ferocious DIY approach to creating not-quite dance music, not-quite post-punk. Maniacal sequenced bass and crisp-dried drum machines propel the likes of L.F.T., De Ambassade and Broken English Club, while Job Sifre and Toulouse Low Trax give the 12” edit vibe with their 9-plus-minute cuts of pure industrial techno-twinged chaos.
