Representing the western side of Japan are “Lemuria in Reverie", a mixed-gender vocal band led by Kenny, formerly of Si, irene and Yukla Down, delivering shoegaze straight down the middle; “WolfSurfPurpleSky", known for their catchy, uplifting sound and energetic live performances; “San▽jun", creators of serene yet beautifully explosive soundscapes; rising young act “Shii", a band poised to become one of Japan's defining shoegaze names; and “yoake no seirei”. From the eastern side comes “KILDREN", whose massive wall-of-guitar sound embodies the essence of shoegaze. The compilation's only idol group, “Suisou to Clematis", contributes a wistful and nostalgic shoegaze tune produced by Yusuke Hata of Cruyff in the Bedroom. Also featured is “ANY‰", the project of Kairino, whose distinctive songwriting and beautiful vocals create a uniquely personal world. Although currently on hiatus, “Kinyou no Yoru" and “hail lain" also appear, offering tracks that remind listeners why their return is so eagerly anticipated. The compilation further expands beyond Japan with “Tofu Kingdom", which previously celebrated a release through Total Feedback and is now rapidly gaining popularity in Hong Kong, and “blu mush", a promising young Taiwanese act crafting gently melodic and immersive soundscapes. Be sure not to miss this whirlwind one-hour journey through waves of soaring guitars and dreamlike noise.
