Varner's El Camino Chardonnay is an interpretation of a classic Santa Barbara Chardonnay. Tropical flavors are framed by a phenolic structure of destemmed fruit and new French oak aging. Bright acidity sends the tropical fruit flavors over to citrus and apples for a more tightly coiled Chardonnay in a modern style."You can taste the bottle age in this four-year-old wine. The Varner family of Santa Cruz make this from a cool Los Alamos vineyard site. It’s taken on a golden hue, with flavors of apple and toasted lees.
