Beautiful poster created for the 1972 edition of the Vasaloppet or "Vasa Race", the worlds oldest, longest and largest cross-country annual ski race. The event runs from Salen to Mora in Sweden, and celebrates the 1521 journey of Gustav Vasa. Established in 1922, the 1972 edition marked the 50th of the event. Featuring beautiful artwork by Gosta Almquist depicting a skier seeing the spirit of Vasa as they journey on, this piece is in mint condition and backed on linen to ensure its preservation for the decades to come.
