Satsuma bud vase with cartouches holding haloed Buddha deities and Shinto priests above the wide shoulder of the vase. A small Shimazu clan crest is embedded at the neck near appli ed handles. Four panels fromthe shoulder t the flared base hold finely painted figures, including noble ladies at garden-viewing veranda (engawa), and armored Samurai. Gold embellishments throughout.
