Unglazed stoneware vase. It is handmade, without a potter's wheel. I used the ancient technique called “coil building.” Long rolls of clay are stacked on top of each other to form the rough shape of the vase. When the clay reaches a drying point called the “leather stage,” the shape is refined to perfect its curves.I decided not to glaze it because of the very special way it catches the light.
