POPULAR VAULT ACCESSORY Mount Your V800 Without Drilling the Case. Planning to use the V800 as rooftop or exterior overland storage? The Pelican No-Drill Case Roof Mounts are available in a Vault-case configuration that works with this case. The mounting system lets you secure the Vault case to a compatible roof-rack setup without drilling permanent mounting holes through the Pelican shell. It turns the long, low-profile V800 into an exceptionally useful rooftop equipment case for compatible vehicle and rack setups. SHOP VAULT NO-DRILL ROOF MOUNTS BUILT TO TAKE A HIT Crushproof. Dustproof. Weather-Resistant. The V800 uses a high-impact polypropylene shell designed to protect its contents against the impacts, dirt and exposure that come with real transportation. Pelican describes the Vault case as crushproof, dustproof and weather-resistant, making it suitable for hard use on the road, trail and in transit. Whether you're protecting rifles, tools or valuable overland equipment, the purpose is the same: isolate what's inside from the abuse outside. PELICAN VAULT DETAILS Protection Is More Than a Hard Shell. Six Push-Button Latches Six secure push-button latches keep the V800 closed while allowing fast access when you're ready to open it. High-Impact Polymer A rigid polypropylene body provides the primary protective structure around rifles, equipment and accessories inside. Four Layers of Foam Four protective foam layers let the case cushion and support rifles, optics, tools and compatible equipment during transport. Heavy-Duty Handles Reinforced ergonomic handles are designed for carrying the larger case and substantial loads in demanding conditions. Lockable Integrated padlock holes provide locations for compatible locks when additional security is required. Made in the USA Manufactured in the United States as part of Pelican's Vault protective-case family. GO LONGER 53 Inches of Interior Length. The defining difference between the V800 and smaller Vault rifle cases is space. Pelican designed the V800 to carry two scoped rifles, providing an interior measuring approximately 53.00" L × 16.00" W × 6.00" D. That extra length also gives overland and equipment-storage customers room for long tools, recovery equipment, tripods and other gear that simply doesn't fit efficiently into a conventional cargo box. NOT JUST FOR RIFLES A Long, Low-Profile Equipment Case. Pelican calls it the V800 Vault Double Rifle Case, and that's exactly what it was designed to do. But the case doesn't know what's inside it. Its long, relatively shallow footprint makes it equally interesting for customers who need rugged exterior storage without adding the height of a conventional rooftop cargo box. Recovery Gear Long Tools Camp Equipment Tripods & Optics Outdoor Gear Valuable Equipment SIZE AT A GLANCE 53 × 16 × 6 Inches Inside. 53" Interior Length 16" Interior Width 6" Interior Depth CHECK YOUR EQUIPMENT BEFORE ORDERING Measure the Complete Loadout. Rifle dimensions vary depending on barrel length, stock configuration, optics, bipods and other mounted equipment. The same is true when the V800 is being used for tools or overland gear. The usable interior measures approximately 53" × 16" × 6", so measure the complete equipment configuration you intend to transport rather than relying solely on the nominal size of an individual item. If you're mounting the case externally, also confirm the available rack area, crossbar spacing, loaded weight and vehicle clearances. Pelican designed the V800 as a double rifle case capable of carrying two scoped rifles. Its long 53" interior also makes it useful as a protective equipment case for tools, overland gear and other long cargo. How much larger is the V800 than the V730? The V800 provides approximately 53" of interior length compared with 44" in the V730. Both provide 16" of interior width, while the V800 is approximately 6" deep inside. Can the V800 carry two rifles? Yes. Pelican specifically designs and markets the V800 to carry two scoped rifles. Always measure the complete firearm configurations before ordering. Does the V800 include foam? Yes. Pelican currently specifies four layers of protective foam with the V800. Can I use the V800 as an overland equipment case? Yes. Although Pelican designed the V800 as a double rifle case, its long, shallow shape works well for compatible tools, recovery equipment, camp gear and other valuable equipment. The complete load and mounting system must remain within the applicable vehicle and rack ratings. Can I mount the V800 to a roof rack without drilling the case? Yes. Cap-it offers the Pelican No-Drill Case Roof Mounts in a Vault configuration compatible with this case, allowing the case to be mounted to a suitable rack setup without drilling through the shell. Is the Pelican V800 waterproof? Pelican describes the V800 as crushproof, dustproof and weather-resistant. It should not be confused with Pelican case families specifically marketed as waterproof. Can the case be locked? Yes. Integrated padlock holes measure approximately 0.46" in diameter and accept compatible locks. What colours are available? Cap-it currently offers the V800 in Black, Tan, Ghost Gray and OD Green, subject to current inventory. Is the V800 made in the USA? Yes. Pelican lists the V800 Vault Double Rifle Case as Made in the USA. Does it ship prepaid in Canada? Yes. The V800 qualifies for Cap-it's prepaid shipping program on qualifying online orders over $200 within Canada, subject to applicable shipping terms and exclusions. THE CAP-IT TAKE The Extra Nine Inches Make the V800 a Very Different Case. The V730 is already a useful long case. The V800 stretches the interior to 53 inches, creating enough room for two scoped rifles or substantially longer equipment. For us, that also makes the V800 especially interesting outside its original firearms application. Fifty-three inches of protected storage in a case only about 6.65 inches tall externally is a useful shape on an overland vehicle. Add the no-drill Vault roof mounts and the V800 can become a rugged low-profile rooftop equipment box without permanently drilling through the Pelican shell. If you need the additional length, whether for rifles, long tools or exterior overland storage, the V800 gives you a lot of protected space without turning into a tall conventional cargo box.
