The VDK generates chlorine dioxide gas inside the closed cabin so the treatment can move through the vehicle instead of only touching the places you can reach by hand. Chlorine dioxide is not a fragrance, perfume, or cover-up scent. It is a selective oxidizing agent used for odor control because it can react with many odor-causing compounds at the molecular level. How To Use the Vehicle Deodorization Kit Remove trash, spills, loose debris, and obvious odor sources from the vehicle. Add water to the jar fill line. Place the jar securely in the cupholder. Drop the VDK tablet into the jar. Exit vehicle and do not open doors until after treatment is completed. After treatment, open the doors and air out the vehicle for 10 to 15 minutes before driving.
