Impact Univent 750 Transport Ventilator The Uni-Vent 750 Portable Ventilator is a portable electronically controlled, time cycled, pressure limited ventilator. It is controlled by an on board microprocessor which continuously monitors the patients airway pressure, all control settings, alarm parameters and power signals. Control Module: Front panel of ventilator where the controls and indicators are located. This panel is accessed by unlocking and lifting the clear cover. All of the ventilator functions and settings are done from the Control Module. Mode Selector Switch: Turn the ventilator on and allow it to perform a “self check”. After the self check has completed you can use the Control Module to make adjustments to the settings and select the operation mode according to the patient’s needs. CTRL – Cycles in accordance with Rate, Inspiration time and Flow Adjust settings. ASSIST – Cycles in accordance with Rate, Inspiration time and FlowAdjust, but will sense the patient’s attempts at spontaneous respiration and “assist” the patient with the Flow and Inspiration time settings. Control takes over when the rate is to low or no spontaneous respirations are sensed. SIMV – Will intermittently deliver a controlled breath at the Rate control setting, and synchronize to the patient’s spontaneous respirations. The patient breathes at their normal rate and volume until the next controlled ventilation. Flow Adjust: The Flow Adjust will allow for the user to adjust the Tidal volumedelivered. It is used in conjunction with the Inspiration Time. (Calibrated for 50psi input pressure) Example: Flow Adjust set at 500 ml/SEC and Inspiration Time set at 1.5 SEC will deliver a Tidal Volume of 750 ml. (see the back of the ventilatorfor a Computation Chart) Tidal volume = 6 Liters/Kg Rate control: To select the ventilation rate, press the “RATE” button next to the Rate control knob. The button lamp will illuminate and the digital display will light and allow adjustments to be made. 12-20 breaths per minute Inspiration Time: To select the inspiration time, press the “INSP” button next to the Inspiration Rate control knob. The button lamp will illuminate and the digital display will light and allow adjustments to be made. Inspiration time 1-1.5 SEC High/low pressure controls: Adjust High/Low pressure alarms. press the “HIGH” or “LOW” button next to the High/LOW knob. The button lamp will illuminate and the digital display will light and allow adjustments to be made. (10 above and 5 below the hospital Peak Inspiratrory Pressure) PEEP controls: Select the PEEP setting if required. Alarms: Alarm Status indicator will alert you to any problems that may occur. This function is designed to give you an auditory and visual alert. The alarm can be temporarily muted or cancelled for a period 30 seconds to 5 minutes depending on the alarm type
