A new version of our 3-way carry RucTote, rendered in the newly-developed ripstop version of storied Ventile® fabric and with some small revisions designed to to make optimum use of this 100% natural weatherproof performance fabric. Unobtrusive and cleanly-designed storm flaps have been added to the twin front pockets in order to protect their contents from the most inclement weather, with leather binding to the large internal pocket lending additional strength. Elsewhere the original RucTote’s signature features are present and correct: a unique leather strap system enables both shoulder-tote and ruck-style carry without any adjustment required, with the third option of hand carry by internal leather handles stitched just inside the bag’s zip-through top opening. Ventile® fabric was developed in the North of England for use in WWII, where it has been produced ever since. Woven from 100% natural cotton, Ventile’s dense weave provides superior weatherproofing with no coating or treatment necessary, and while surprisingly lightweight it is also incredibly durable. To this already hardy material, the ripstop variety adds even greater resistance against tearing, and the Ventile Ripstop RucTote is the world’s first bag to utilize this advanced new version of a classic fabric. All leather comes from the renowned Horween tannery of Chicago (est. 1905), with 100% solid brass hardware throughout and a U.S.-made Y.K.K. zipper.
