In this work, the body appears as a deformed silhouette - androgynous, anonymous, and stripped of defining details. Rather than portraying a specific individual, the figure becomes a universal presence, inviting the viewer to project their own emotions and interpretations. The body exists as both form and sensation, suggested rather than fully defined. Figurative art has always been at the heart of my painting. I am deeply fascinated by the human form, often exploring it through an abstract lens where gesture, movement, and the materiality of paint become as important as the figure itself. My influences stem from the body’s physical presence, the expressive possibilities of colour, and the energy of the painterly gesture. Rooted in the spirit of New Figuration, this painting reflects an urgent internal expression of mood and emotion, where the human presence may appear directly or simply as a trace. It is an exploration of identity, vulnerability, and the quiet emotional landscapes we carry within us.
