In the hush between sleep and waking, I drift again into the purple waters; an endless ocean cradled beneath a sky of ancient stars. In creating "Cosmic Oceans," I surrender to the flow of paint and energy, allowing instinct to lead the way rather than premeditation. Each canvas is an act of surrender, a conversation without words. I breathe color into being, following an unseen current that pulls from somewhere beyond memory. The paints mingle and part like tides pulled by distant moons, revealing galaxies within waves, and waves within galaxies. This series is not a map, but a memory. Not a landscape, but a longing. A feeling of weightlessness, of being held by something vast and unknowable. The shimmering textures and layered transparencies mirror the ever-shifting dialogue between water and sky… between consciousness and the infinite unknown. Each work is a portal: an invitation for viewers to lose themselves in the currents of their own imagination, to feel the pull of something both deeply ancient and breathtakingly new. Inspired by the repeating patterns in nature and our connection to the all-encompassing force of life. This work was created with water from the Pacific Ocean US, several layers of fluid acrylic paint, quartz crystal powder, acrylic glazing, and spray paint. This piece is a one-of-a-kind original abstract expression of my inner world and cannot be duplicated. This piece is finished with a satin varnish, dripped edges, and signed on the back.
