A classic Bordeaux blend this wine shows a rich ruby color with an almost opaque center. Cassis, pencil lead, spice, and red berries abound on the nose. The delicate fruit, tannin structure, and fine acidity indicate a wine of balance and finesse reflective of the Vergelegen terroir. The 2016 comes right between two standout vintages, blended over two sessions, six months apart. The 2016’s are all classic and elegant, more old world than new world.
