Notable for its creamy, shimmering whites and swirling veins of gray-green, this marble has been used in important American architectural and sculptural landmarks in New York City and Washington, D.C. Vermont marble is hundreds of millions of years older than Carrara marble, and has a larger crystal structure and lower porosity than the Italian variety. Greenpoint Stone, founded by sculptors Kellie Pereira and Stephen Shaheen, is a design studio based in Brooklyn. Their designs direct us to look at stone as works of art.
