The goal of the vertebrate and invertebrate lesson in Montessori education is to help children categorize and classify animals into two groups: those with backbones (vertebrates) a nd those without (invertebrates). This process encourages them to organize information and develop scientific thinking skills. This includes the following vertebrates and invertebrates: Chordata, Aves, Reptilia, Mammalia, Amphibia, Pisces, Porifera, Cnidaria, Platyhelminthes, Nematodes, Mollusca, Annelida, Arthropods, and Echinodermata. Includes: 1 color control chart 1 labeled chart (no pictures) 1 blank chart 22 picture cards (to build the chart) The picture cards can be printed twice and made into 3-part cards. To use three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches using the control cards with the labels.
