Before Iso E Super™ there was Vertofix® Coeur, a light woody material capable of use at very high doses and loved equally by women and men. As perfumes became simpler and novel sce nts were demanded, naturals like cedarwood oil were increasingly displaced. Vertofix Coeur from IFF is the most refined and elegant form of Methyl Cedryl Ketone. In extremely large doses it provides a wonderful canvas for other wood materials, green notes and florals. Vertofix Coeur is a dry cedar material with nuances of musk and leather. Blend it with Iso E Super when you want a little more character than the latter alone can provide, or use it in combination with Veticoeur™, the great classical base which forms the key of the two greatest vetiver fragrances (demonstration formulas below) and makes up a considerable part of that most unique of Chanel fragrances: No 19.
