They were established in January 194 3 and have transitioned to the latest version of the Hornet with all the upgrades. The 'Fist' were paired with their sister squadron of VFA-113 to upgrade simultaneously. 2023 is the 80th year of existence for this squadron and they created this patch to commemorate this milestone.
