They participate d in Desert Storm in 1991 with CVW-11 and the USS Lincoln (CVN-72). They now fly from the deck of the Carl Vinson (CVN-70). Sometimes they are tasked with flying as 'adversaries', so they created this 'RED AIR' aircraft patch (but note the "red" was changed to "orange" for their squadron colors) to wear during those flights.
