Commonly used as a pre-therapy sensory activity, it prepares clients who do not yet tolerate oral placement tools for feeding and speech therapy by building oral sensitivity awareness and tolerance. Therapy Goals Diagnose and assess hypersensitivity, hyposensitivity, and tactile defensiveness in and around the oral cavity prior to feeding or speech therapy. Promote sensory awareness and tolerance of tactile input within the oral cavity and on facial structures. Reduce tactile defensiveness and oral hypersensitivity through graduated desensitization using the vibrating Spinner. Prepare clients for oral placement tools and feeding interventions by building tolerance to vibrotactile oral contact. Improve responsiveness to sensory information on and within the oral cavity to support feeding and speech therapy goals. Key Benefits Dual-function tool: serves as both a diagnostic tool (identifying sensory conditions) and a therapeutic tool (improving sensory responsiveness). Vibrating Spinner provides controlled vibrotactile input for oral desensitization and sensory facilitation. Disposable Toothies allow hygienic, client-specific application during assessment and treatment sessions. Effective pre-therapy sensory preparation for clients who do not yet tolerate oral placement tools in the mouth. Reveals sensory conditions including hypersensitivity, hyposensitivity, and tactile defensiveness that may interfere with oral placement, feeding, and speech therapy. Includes TalkTools original instruction booklet for clinical guidance and implementation. Ideal for: Children and adults who are not yet tolerating oral placement tools or feeding therapy interventions. Clients with tactile defensiveness or oral hypersensitivity affecting feeding or speech therapy participation. Clients with oral hyposensitivity who benefit from vibrotactile stimulation to build oral awareness. Speech-language pathologists conducting oral sensory assessments prior to OPT or feeding therapy. Occupational therapists addressing oral sensory processing and tactile tolerance. Feeding therapists working with clients on pre-feeding sensory readiness. NICU, early intervention, private practice, school-based, and clinic settings. What's Included 1 x Spinner (battery-operated vibrating oral tool) 20 x Toothies (disposable oral swabs) 1 x TalkTools original instruction booklet Not Included 2 x AAA batteries required for Spinner operation Product Details Power source 2 x AAA batteries (not included). Toothies Disposable oral swabs; for single-client use only. Safety FDA compliant. Diagnostic use Reveals hypersensitivity, hyposensitivity, and tactile defensiveness. Care Instructions Before first use: Insert AAA batteries (not included) per the battery compartment instructions; attach a Toothie securely to the Spinner before use. Toothies: Single-use only; dispose of after each client session; do not reuse between clients. Spinner body: Wipe with a damp cloth and mild surface disinfectant after each use; do not submerge in water. Battery compartment: Do not allow moisture to enter; replace batteries when vibration output weakens. Do not autoclave or submerge the Spinner in any liquid. Inspect the Spinner before each use; dispose of if cracked or damaged. Warning: Use with adult supervision at all times. Toothies are for single-use only; do not reuse between clients. Inspect the Spinner before every use and dispose of it properly at the first sign of damage or deterioration.
