Thai rubies have a slightly different character to Burmese specimens - they tend to lack the pink overtones characteristic of Burmese rubies, and instead lean closer to purple and sometimes slightly brownish secondary tones, which gives their reds a rich, sophisticated depth. This special ring is set with a sequence of five graduated Thai rubies, of a beautiful, almost wine red, accented at each corner with glittering rose-cut diamonds.
