It was recorded in the relatively dry and controlled environment of Vienna’s second studio, the Silent Stage, and offers all common articulations. Double Reed. The oboe is a double-reed instrument usually made of wood, but sometimes also of synthetic materials. The most commonly used member of the family – not only in ensembles but also as a solo instrument – is the soprano oboe in C. Its bright nasal tone makes it easy to discern in orchestra pieces. Perfect Balance. The ensemble with three well-rehearsed musicians playing in unison offers the ideal solution for creating the perfect balance between strings, brass, and woodwinds in large orchestras, without risking that one of the instruments stands out as a solo instrument.
