When Vikas was 10 years old, his father was killed in a traffic accident with a truck from a large company. The company bribed the police to close that matter quickly, and the family got a tiny lump sum as compensation. Vikas' mother was approached by her uncle who encouraged her to put Vikas in a rock quarry. The rock quarry recruiters promised good food and monthly wages for the mother, and Vikas went to live and work in the stone quarry. The monthly salary was a lie, and life in the quarry was torture.
