Your custom label or plate is prepared using the supplied information. The completed order is dispatched using the delivery service selected at checkout. Manufacturing normally takes 1–2 working days after all required information has been received and verified. Incomplete information may delay production. Check the Product Before Fitting Before removing any backing, protective film or packaging, check: The VIN and printed information The finished size The colour and layout The supplied quantity The intended fitting position Do not fit, modify, drill, trim, bend or remove the backing if anything appears incorrect. Contact VIN Shield before installation. Once a custom product has been fitted, altered or damaged during installation, it cannot normally be returned or reused. How to Apply an Adhesive Label Step 1 — Test the Position Place the label in its intended position while the backing remains attached. Check that it fits correctly, is straight and does not cover or obstruct any required information. Use low-tack masking tape as a positioning guide if needed. Step 2 — Prepare the Surface Apply the label in a clean, dry and sheltered environment, preferably between 15°C and 25°C. Remove all: Dust and dirt Grease and oil Wax and polish Silicone and cleaning residue Loose paint or corrosion Clean the surface using isopropyl alcohol and a clean, lint-free cloth. Allow it to dry completely. Do not apply to wet, contaminated, damaged or freshly painted surfaces. Confirm the paint has fully cured before application. Step 3 — Remove Part of the Backing Avoid touching the adhesive. Peel back only a small section of the backing paper to expose one edge of the label. Step 4 — Apply Slowly Align the exposed edge with your positioning guide. Press it down gently, then remove the remaining backing slowly while smoothing the label from one side to the other. Do not stretch, crease or repeatedly reposition the label. Step 5 — Press Firmly Press firmly and evenly over the complete label, paying particular attention to the edges. Use a clean microfibre cloth or a suitable soft-edged applicator. Do not use a sharp or abrasive tool. Step 6 — Allow the Adhesive to Bond Keep the area dry and avoid washing, rubbing or disturbing the label for at least 24 hours. Adhesive strength develops gradually. How to Install a Metal Plate Metal identification plates must be fitted using a method appropriate for the plate, vehicle and installation location. Before installation: Check all information and measurements Confirm the fitting location Check for wiring, fuel lines, batteries and vehicle components behind the area Use suitable fixings, adhesive or professional welding procedures Protect the surrounding vehicle and identification information from damage Weld-in plates should only be installed by a suitably experienced and competent professional. VIN Shield does not provide vehicle-specific structural, welding or installation approval. If uncertain, consult a qualified vehicle repairer, fabricator or inspecting authority before fitting. Important Fitting Warning Tamper-evident labels are designed to become damaged if lifted, removed or repositioned after application. Take time to check the VIN, measurements, fitting location and alignment before allowing the adhesive to contact the surface. VIN Shield UK is not responsible for fitting errors, incorrect positioning, unsuitable or contaminated surfaces, customer modifications or damage caused during installation. If you are not confident fitting the product, use an experienced vehicle technician, body shop, fabricator or professional label installer.
