Very few names loom larger in Italian aromatized wine than Giulio Cocchi (pronounced COKE-ee), who began producing his wines in 1891 in Asti. His bottlings became world-renowned during the Belle Epoque, and the solidification of cocktail culture, but at their core, his wines are still meant to be drank as aperitif wine. Enjoyed over ice, straight-up, or with soda/tonic, his wines are, to this day, wonderfully enjoyable. Vermouth di Torino is a cornerstone of culture and heritage in Piemonte, having been so since the late 18th Century, when the House of Savoy promoted the style, and Cocchi's is one of the premier producers you can find. A rich vermouth, with notes of cocoa, vanilla, bitter orange, sandal, myrrh, nutmeg, and balsam, drink it over ice with a lemon twist. 16.0% ABV
