An antique copper bed warmer, a bassinoire, the kind used all over Europe and America from the 16th century until electric blankets came along in the early 1900s. You filled the ro unded, perforated copper body with hot water or heated rocks and slid it down between the sheets to warm the bed before you climbed in. The wooden handle is sturdy and there is a metal loop on the end so it could hang by the fireplace when it was not in use, which is exactly where I would hang it now. Please note: it is in good condition with minor wear, including deep scratching to the handle and oxidation on the copper body. Show more
