Def Leppard are a British heavy metal band formed in 1977. They are still active to this day. Their third album Pyromania was released in 1982 and saw the band become insanely po pular. Two years later, while the band was preparing for their follow up, drummer Rick Allen lost his arm in a car accident. Now I know you're thinking a drummer... losing his arm? Well that must have ended his career! How sad! That's logical. But Allen figured it out, creating a partially electric drum kit triggered by pedals that allowed him to continue banging the skins.
