The 2010 Casar Mencia has a clear Atlantic profile, showing the herbaceous side of Mencia, perhaps the reason why before DNA tests were available, people speculated about the possi bility of Mencia being Cabernet Franc. The clay-rich soils make for powerful wines here, a little smoky, full of dark fruit, well proportioned, balanced and tasty with very good acidity. A Bierzo for the Bordeaux fans. Drink 2013-2019. Score - 91. (Luis Gutierrez, erobertparker.com, Aug. 2013) Show more
