This abandoned castle is situated in a large park. The main building was built in the 1600's, with an eclectic moorish style. Eventually the castle became a luxury hotel. In the late 90's it was auctioned off and some restoration work was done, but then the project was unfortunately abandoned. Recently there have been fresh talks and aims to promote and enhance the castle. We'll see what happens, it really is quite a wonderful place, if a little bit much.. There are so many rooms decorated like this! I have visited on several occasions, and on a recent one I accidently ended up joining a tour that was there on the day.
