Pure Viola odorata absolute. Violet leaf (Viola odorata) absolute is distilled from the leaves of the wood violet (also known as sweet violet, English violet, common violet, florist's violet, or garden violet), a hearty herbaceous flowering perennial native to Europe and Asia, and which has been introduced to North America and Australia. It is traditionally used in aromatherapy for its relaxing, soothing, and inspiring properties, to soothe stress headaches, nervousness, insomnia, rheumatism, poor circulation, and sore throats, and in perfumery as a fixative. Violet leaf embodies the verdant smell of spring, the fresh vegetal aroma of tender green leaves covered in morning dew. It has cool aqueous facets, reminiscent of cucumber, with powdery soft floral undertones.
