Violet Wash is one of those images where the colour almost seems to float across the surface. My eye went straight to that wonderful wash of violet, blue and soft pink through the centre. Then there is the gold—stronger around the edges and breaking into the softer colours in little fragments. I particularly like that contrast. Some areas are delicate and almost hazy, while others are full of intricate texture and detail. The closer I look, the more colour I find. From above, there is no real sense of scale. It could almost be paint, pigment or minerals spreading across a canvas rather than a landscape. Violet Wash is part of my Mineral Bloom series, where colour is very much the starting point. Interior Design Suggestions Violet Wash has a lovely balance of soft and warm colour. The violet, blue and pink tones would work beautifully with warm whites, pale grey, soft stone and natural timber, while the gold and ochre give it enough warmth to stop it feeling too cool. I can see this working particularly well in a bedroom, living room, entrance or quiet sitting area. It would also suit interiors using dusty pinks, mauves, muted blues or warm metallic accents. This is another image I would be comfortable printing quite large. At a distance, you get the broad sweep of colour. Up close, the extraordinary detail in the landscape becomes much more apparent.
