Virginia Creeper is a fast-growing native woody vine that creeps along the ground as a groundcover or climbs without needing support. The saw-toothed palmate foliage emerges purple and matures to dull green before flushing with shades of purple and crimson in fall. Insignificant white flowers are hidden by the foliage but are followed by blue-black berries that are exposed in fall when the foliage drops.
