100 open-pollinated, non-gmo, pesticide-free, and heirloom viroflay spinach seeds (Spinacia oleracea) per packet. Large, smooth, and dark green leaves. Leaves grow to 9-10 inches l ong. Old French variety dating back to the 1700s and 1800s with the name "Monstrueux de Viroflay". Harvested for baby leaves and mature leaves. Grows in zones 3-12. Direct sow 0.5 in deep every 4 in. Sow as early as soil can be worked. Germination takes 5-14 days. Mulch around seedlings to prevent weeds. Thrives in cool temps. Grows well in shade. Sow every 2 weeks for continuous crops until hot summer temps. Sow again in late summer. 21-45 days to maturity. Seeds won’t germinate in hot temps. Keep soil moist but don’t overwater. Show more
