This class will offer you insight into how to prepare your 4-legged baby for the 2-legged one soon to enter your home. Even the calmest, best-natured dogs need some preparation before the new baby arrives. A Certified Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant with over 15 years experience, Jyl will give you the tools to work with your pet, help you prepare before the baby's arrival, and alert you to things that you should be aware of. She has the passion plus the credentials for working with all breeds and loves sharing her knowledge. This class is designed for expecting parents, new parents, or anyone who has kids and wants to know more about dogs and how they view and interact with children. You will get an overview on the different ways a dog views a child from infancy up to a teenager, and how this explains behavior issues that may arise. This is a single-session class designed for the humans in the family. All online registrations must be made 48 hours prior to the start of class. Details: 1 single VIRTUAL session Saturdays (9:00- 11:00 AM) or Tuesday (6:30 - 8:30 PM) Virtual Class No prerequisites Cost per couple for a 2 hr session - $50 $15 per additional person w/couple (i.e. grandmother, caregiver, etc) Online registrations must be made 48 hours prior to the start of class. Registration Cancellations: In order to accommodate everyone wishing to register for a class, cancellations must be done 24 hours prior to the class date in order to receive store credit. About the Instructor: Jyl Hershman-Ross, Trainer, Behavior Consultant. Jyl is a wealth of information on every breed of dog, their behaviors, and their personalities. Her classes are always upbeat, fun and informative. Jyl has worked in radio as well as helping dog rescue organizations whenever she can. During her work with dog rescue organizations, she acquired a puppy that she soon came to realize needed a lot of training. She met Lee Mannix – a bigger than life Texan with a gift when it came to training dogs. From that moment on, Jyl’s passion for helping dogs drove her to where she is today. She acquired her certification as a CPDT-KA and is currently a Level 2 Tellington T-Touch Companion Animal Practitioner. Continuing to study and train, she is specifically focused on working with fearful and aggressive dogs. Jyl and her husband live with the cats and dogs who have claimed them and enjoys surrounding herself with good friends, music, and bright colors.
