Intersectionality refers to how the different components of a person’s identity interact to make up who they are. The term was originally coined by Kimberle Crenshaw who was also i nstrumental in the development of critical race theory, a concept that has recently grown in popularity, use, and political ridicule. As a publication run by teens for teens, The Echo has dedicated its 12th volume to showcasing the importance and impact of intersectionality from the perspective of young people all around the world.
