Clean 4-Volt RCA Output Through Full Radio Volume The HD-A2B8BT provides eight channels of clean 4-volt RMS analog RCA output. More importantly, that signal is designed to remain clean all the way to full radio volume. This allows the aftermarket system to be properly gain-matched while giving the rider access to the full usable volume range of the Skyline OS radio without intentionally limiting the radio to a lower maximum-volume setting. Install your amplifier, properly set your gains, and use your radio normally. Factory EQ Presets Actually Work One of the biggest advantages of the HD-A2B8BT is its integration with the factory Skyline OS EQ controls. Factory presets such as: Rock Country Highway Hip Hop R&B And other available factory EQ selections remain functional. These aren’t simply buttons on the radio that no longer do anything. When you change the factory EQ preset from the Skyline OS screen, the HD-A2B8BT responds by changing the corresponding DSP profile inside the interface. This gives the rider meaningful sound adjustments directly from the factory radio while still using aftermarket amplifiers and speakers. The factory Custom EQ functionality is retained as well, allowing adjustments made from the radio to interact with the HD-A2B8BT’s DSP. Automatic Speed-Controlled Volume — Retained Motorcycle audio is different from automotive audio. A system that sounds great sitting at a traffic light has to overcome dramatically more wind and road noise at highway speed. That’s why the HD-A2B8BT retains Harley-Davidson’s automatic speed-controlled volume functionality. The system automatically adjusts volume compensation in 5 MPH increments from 0 through 80 MPH. As motorcycle speed increases, the system automatically increases compensation. As the motorcycle slows down, it automatically reduces it. There’s nothing extra for the rider to operate. Set your volume and ride. Factory Fader Retention The factory Skyline OS fader remains functional with the HD-A2B8BT. This allows properly configured front and rear aftermarket audio systems to continue being controlled from the factory infotainment system rather than losing a feature that was originally built into the motorcycle. Retains Factory Secondary Amplifiers & Subwoofers Replacing the primary factory amplifier doesn’t necessarily mean you have to eliminate the rest of the factory audio system. Individual outputs can be delayed to compensate for the physical location of each speaker relative to the listening position. For advanced tuning, this provides another important tool for improving imaging, staging, arrival times, and overall system coherence. Independent Polarity Control Polarity can be controlled independently for every output channel. This gives advanced tuners additional control when optimizing speaker interaction, acoustic summation, and integration around crossover regions. Independent Channel Level & Gain Structure Individual output levels can be adjusted for every channel, giving the tuner precise control over the gain structure and balance of the entire system. This is particularly useful in systems using different speaker sizes, locations, efficiencies, or multiple amplifiers. This isn’t simply a basic Bluetooth receiver added to the interface. The Bluetooth hardware was specifically selected to provide the processing and memory required for SeirenHD to develop custom functionality specifically for the Harley-Davidson Skyline OS platform. Harley-Davidson’s Skyline OS normally requires a compatible Bluetooth headset connection before enabling Apple CarPlay. The HD-A2B8BT can emulate the required Bluetooth headset connection directly from the interface. What does that mean for the rider? Apple CarPlay can operate without requiring an actual Bluetooth headset to be connected to the motorcycle. This functionality is built directly into the HD-A2B8BT, eliminating the need for a separate CarPlay bypass module. The headset-emulation functionality and Bluetooth DSP tuning are separate features. You do not need to use your computer or tablet for the interface to perform its CarPlay headset-emulation function.
