This species of S.E. Brazil has always been one of the best of the 'landscape' bromeliads. Growing to a truly giant size with beautifully tessellated green leaves to over three fee t across, large specimens are much sought for the interior and patioscape trade. An excellent grower responding to pot size and fertilizer to reach its maximum size. It should be noted that this plant has another form, Nova, which has become more popular and widely cultivated.
