The pulley system can also be interchangeable between nylon and aluminium, the main difference is that aluminium pulleys are considered smoother and sturdier however the nylon pulleys are softer and dampen sounds. Smith Machine: The built-in Smith Machine features a precision aluminium barbell with medium cross-haired knurling for a secure yet comfortable grip. You can also connect the rear cable stacks to the Smith mechanism, adding variable resistance for progressive overload without swapping plates. Switch between 1:1 for full resistance or 2:1 for half resistance by either connecting both (1:1) carabiners or just one (2:1). The lat-pulldown has a 2:1 ratio but connects to both weight stacks, so to pull 80kg both of the pins will have to be in 80kg for both weight stacks. While the low row station has a 1:1 ratio so to pull 80kg there should be pins in 40kg for both weight stacks. Intelligent Engineering: Having both pulleys allows to increment weights by either half of what is shown on the rack or by the full amount, this is perfect for shoulder exercises and when you want to progress safely towards exercise goals. The lat-pulldown and the low row in the middle connect to both of the weights which allows for heavy lifting during these two movements!
