The VVS has a single row of 4 custom wound coils, 1 for each string. This makes for a more focused sound when compared to a 2 row pickup. It also makes changes in the resonant freq uency (the pickups voice) more apparent compared to the 2 row variants. The voice of your pickup is largely defined by its resonant frequency (RF). The VV Series allows you to adjust where the RF is and how apparent it is using the 2 dials on the top of the pickup. This gives you total control over the voicing of your pickup and your overall tone. For a deep dive on how this works, and how pickups work in general, see the drop downs below. Each row of coils inside the VV Series are humbucking so you don't have to worry about any 60 cycle hum ruining your tone. The case is fabricated from extremely durable hdpe plastic, and the whole pickup is epoxy filled to ensure years of longevity. A simple 3 wire (hot, ground, shield) shielded cable makes the installation easy. ***Patent Pending*** Show more
