Wagon Wheel is based on a quilt published in one of my favorite quilt books – Abstract Design in American Quilts: A Biography of an Exhibition by Jonathan Holstein. The original wa s made in Colorado around 1890, by an unknown maker, and is a stunner. I love the oversize blocks and the modern, graphic impact of a simple grid of wheels.Pump it up with saturated solids, or make a sophisticated rendition in a calming palette – Wagon Wheel is fun and fast to sew.My Wagon Wheel pattern first appeared in my (out of print) book Modern Quilts, Tradition Inspiration. This stand-alone update includes easy-to-follow instructions, printable templates, and measurements to create your Wagon Wheel quilt in baby, twin, queen, or king size. Acrylic templates coming this fall! Show more
