When Ed Carter and his gang violently raids a Shoshone village, killing their women and children, Captain Ed Trask finds himself trying to calm the Shoshone, who are ready to decla re war on the white men. Trask finally captures Carter, but his troubles are only just beginning. Carter's compatriots are trying to get the drop on Trask, the town is overflowing with poisonous snakes, and a local young lady's hatred of the Shoshone isn't helping to calm racial tensions any.
